What Is Cinnamon?
Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several cinnamon trees native to South East Asia. Cinnamon sometimes known as "Sweet Wood", is the inner bark taken from the cinnamon tree in metre-long cinnamon strips that curl into rolls. The cinnamon rolls are then cut into 5-10 cm lengths for sale.
Cinnamon is usually golden brown in colour with its characteristic aroma of cinnamon and hot aromatic taste. Cinnamon is usually used in sweet dishes, such as apple pie, donuts, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. In the Middle East, cinnamon is a spice often used to make savory dishes with chicken and lamb.
